John Fogerty Atlanta reviews
Phenomenal
John Fogerty was phenomenal. I thought I was going to see a great artist that is no longer in his prime, just to celebrate the fact that he got his songs back. I wasn't expecting more than a solid concert and a celebration for his accomplishments. But the man blew me away. From the first note he played on stage, the audience just stood up and remained standing for the entire first 3rd of the concert. The energy was so great that it really added to the experience. There was chemistry between John and the audience and I even got goose bumps as I really connected to him celebrating the fact that he is now able to play his songs, again. I am really happy that I was able to support him, as he really made my teenage years joyful, as I was listening to his music. I'm also glad to see that he is obviously living a healthy life. He looks 20 years younger than he is and I hope to see him again, on stage. He is a living legend.
Dissappointed
Opening band "Hardy Har", although they are John's sons, and are very talented guitar players, that was not the crowd for that genre of music! As well as giving you a headache, it was also very Satanic! Then you waited another 1/2 hour for Fogerty to take the stage and instead of him, you got a video for another 10-15 minutes!
When John finally came out, he was great as usual! But, took some more of the time jamming with his sons (who as I said are very talented) however, he could have played a couple of more songs in that time! He ended up playing a total of 1 hr and 15minutes, including the brief departure, encore etc..! He failed to play a few of his most popular songs (Lodi, Proud Mary, & Traveling Man) and cut the others short! We waited a long time for another NY appearance, and we were very excited for him to finally come back, but we felt cheated especially for the price of the tickets! (He also was celebrating finally getting the rights to his music back, but he's been playing these songs for at least the last 15 years we've seen him concert, so we were very confused about that as well??)
